a place where someone regularly spends time; a favourite haunt.
Seems like an apt description of the place given the wonderful evening we had at Stomping Grounds, Jumeirah official opening. A special invite arrived well in advance to me for this coffee place, nay, Specialty Coffee Hub.
Set in the lanes of Jumeirah between the rows of villas, this place has a perfect setting for an evening coffee meet up given the amazing extended Dubai winter that we are enjoying.
Single origin & blends coffee along with the the experience of the Roast Master from Australia forms the USP of this place. And I must admit, they know how to make great coffees. Did I mention the Counsel General of Australia has inaugurated this place himself? That was definitely a good start…
Ambiance: The Villa converted in to this hub around the corner & done up with a little rustic furniture indoors makes up for a real cozy place.
The outdoors with the canopy set up is the real scene stealer.
The entire party moved there & chatted up till the setting sun gave us the final exit signals.
Service: Despite it being the opening day, the service was really top notch. They managed to get in our order of Lattes in the heavy service period. The hors d’oeuvres kept coming till we finally had enough of them to nearly skip dinner.
First things first, the Coffee is great. The Latte & the Brazilian coffee were on the money.
The Latte with its creamy foam & the Brazilian coffee with intense flavor yet not being too bitter & not requiring any sugar.
The Hors d’oeuvres kept on coming, personal favorite being the veal bacon with halloumi cheese.
The Mini Burgers were also good but the Tarts needed a crisper shell.
Would have preferred a few sweet dishes to go in with the savory snacks. But an evening well spent.
Final Verdict: The coffee is great, will visit back for that & the setting. I would love to visit them with the entire food offerings on the menu.
